Found a new position at UTMB and thinking about commuting from pearland to Galveston. Is this something that anyone here as done and can give an input? I will be trying it this drive soon but just wanted some recommendations. Is there a park and ride option? Would possibly consider moving to clear lake too although on the map, time of drive seems pretty similar.

Explore some options:
https://www.pearlandtx.gov/departmen...lity-resources
METRO STAR - A rideshare service that saves money, reduces stress and helps you relax to and from work. STAR offers hundreds of scheduled routes in these counties: Harris, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller. Riders share the cost of the van, fuel, maintenance, parks, and tolls.

On average, it will cost you $4 to $6 per day to ride in a METRO STAR vanpool (even less if your employer provides a transportation benefit).
The way it works is riders share the cost of the van, fuel, maintenance, parking and tolls. STAR vanpools are often less expensive than other public or private options since the vans are driven by one or more of the riders.

There (at your new job) will be probably more people driving from Pearland, so you might be able to form some sort of "share-ride club" and agree to schedule who is going to drive on what days. I participated in something like that when I was driving to work from San Antonio to AMD in Austin.

There is a park-and-ride in League City that goes to UTMB. That would shave off the majority of the commute.
