Well i can tell u i dont know anyone at Exxon to get me in the back door and put me on a six figure salary unfortunately.

I get alot of hits when i search IA in houston, just wondering if there was anyone in the industry now in houston, preferably someone who relocated, and how the search was for them. Ill be here in the northeast atleast till the end of this year so im doing some long range planning and havent really applied down there because I cant leave yet.

blackmaxx, the job market is great if you want to work in oil & gas. Check out Halliburton, Schlumberger, BJ Services, and just about any E&P. I know for a fact that any of them will hire auditors with ZERO experience so you should have a leg up.

Blackmaxx,BP is setting up a bigger shop here in The Energy Corridor (termed EC in here). All the oil & gas companies need auditors, we're growing like crazy.

Not yet, at least. Join a few professional groups that have chapters in Houston - start networking and attend a conference or two over the summer. This will also help you meet more people when you move here.

Re: BP, I have an acquaintance who worked at BP. She recently tendered her resignation because they were laying off employees...

Have you looked at working with a staffing agency that specializes in that particular field?
