How do you like that! Houston is listed #5 in the World City sinking list as per yahoo.com.

They have somehow forgot to mention that it is not exactly Houston but Clear Lake and Kemah.

Other than that I think this is a good point to consider when choosing your real estate: the sand banks and the bayous are slowly but eroding. And this will cost us money.

I do wonder about Venice - I understand the flooding of the square, a once rare thing, is almost every day now, according to friends that just got back.

Houston has been sinking for years. The intersection of I 45 and 1960 used to sink 1/4 inch a year. That's what happens when you pump the aquifers dry. Remember Brownwood Subdivision that got swallowed up by Galveston Bay? That and the faults are gonna get all of the slabs. We better buy stock in companies that level foundations.
