I have scoured yt, but the only videos I find it how to clean from scratch, not get off any excess as in the pic below.
I have scrubbed with brillo pads, Dobe pads with barkeeper's friend, let it soak overnight (multiple times) in warm, soapy water, but I can't get that stuff off. Any ideas? Thanks!
Ez-off yellow cap oven cleaner. Spray the dish, put a sopping wet paper towel and it in a garbage bag, leave it in the hot sun for a day.
The absolute way to get it perfectly clean is to let it sit in a lye bath for a couple of days. No scrubbing, no work. It also works for STEEL (not aluminum) baking and bread pans.
Oven cleaner. Put the dish somewhere warm like sunny window or top of fridge for half a day or overnight.
Then take it out to the garage (or even outdoors) and spray the cleaner on, let it sit for an hour or so (may need to re-spray) and then wipe off with paper towels.
Always do in well ventilated location and wear kitchen gloves.
After the oven cleaner just wash it well with hot water and dishwashing soap (I prefer Dawn).
I have even sprayed the oven cleaner and then wrapped with plastic wrap (the wrap snug up against the messy areas) to let it 'soak' for several hours if the mess is really heavy.

Agree with the oven cleaner but why turn this into a multi-day chore? If you want to start the process off with heated glass, just put the dish in the microwave for a few seconds. Then apply cleaner and let it work. If you're not sure the dish is microwave safe you can test it first or heat it in a warm oven instead.
If you have not tried it yet maybe baking soda the pour apple cider vinegar on it. Let it soak at least an hour or longer.
A relative brought over a pie she had baked glass pie pan. The glass was stained brown and black and was just uncleanable.
I did the baking soda + vinegar soak, then scrubbed it for about an hour with an SOS pad, rinsing frequently in hot water. Ultimately I got it to nearly new appearance!
When we returned it to the relative, she was blown away.
