My only quibble (for what it's worth) is that I would've matched the finishes of the faucet and the handles. If I was doing brushed nickle with the faucet, I would've looked for brushed nickle for the handles.
I don't know what "outdated" even means other than as a marketeering gimmick, but I will say they show soap scum and mineral deposits a lot less than chrome.
Unless she is replacing her sink also, she will have to use the plate underneath that single handle faucet set, to cover up the extra holes, which will make it look not quite as slick as the picture, but ok. Or maybe the set she's using already has only a single hole. That's the one thing you have to watch out for.
Detest the phrase "on trend". Coined by someone trying desperately to get credit for a new buzzword. Same goes for other design phrases including "pop of color." BLECH! If a fixture suits me I'll install it. If not, forget it. Someone else's taste shouldn't hold my toes to the fire. If my house is up for sale someone should be buying it for its overall value and structural condition, not faucets! They can replace those with whatever pieces of ugly they want.
