Yep. Friends and coworkers of mine refer to their kids as walking Petri dishes. OP, if you spend time in close proximity with kids, you won't eliminate the risk entirely but you can lower your chances of picking up what they bring home. Do the usual handwashing, not touching hands to nose or mouth, clean touch surfaces, avoid physical contact, minimize time spent in the same room, etc. Heck, all those things were common sense before Covid-19 but everyone on the planet should have the drill memorized by now! Don't forget, many of the bugs kids pick up aren't lethal.
