Agreed. But it's not just having a lot of people in an area. There are other big cities that don't have their crime.

Why would a company that makes a profit from selling firearm related products see any benefit in NOT selling those products ? I'm not buying into the conspiracy theory .

During what years did you own the pawn/gun shop?

in the early 80's with a break in between up until 2003 when the state decided to do eminent domain. My point being that no one forces us to sell to those we do not wish to sell to, or to those that might cause us an issue, I refused many a sale over the years.

I was just curious, as the contiguous state rule went away in 1986.

It sounds like Bass Pro is trying to reduce their liability by limiting sales of potentially dangerous items such as bullets to the whacky Liberal Litigious state of California.

I used to get all sorts of sporting catalogs and many of the questionable "weapons" like double edged knives, blowguns, throwing knives, slingshots and a whole slew of other fun things had a tag line at the bottom of the description that the item could not be shipped to several states. What was funny was the states that were listed were run by Liberals but we didn't have any less crime or incidents then bordering states that did allow such "weapons" ??

The liberal loons unfortunately do not understand that controlling criminals and illegals is the answer to lowering crime, not controlling the items they use.

thanks for posting this, I had forgotten about being able to do this, I just hope my zoning here will allow it, don't intend to sell out of my home anyway, would be gun shows or internet sales.

FACT CHECK: Is Chicago Proof That Gun Laws Don't Work?

But it's not true that Chicago has the toughest gun laws in the country, as other fact checkers have also repeatedly found.

Come on, magazines too? I'm inclined to never use them again if deception is their marketing strategy.

Or is their leadership that flaky? That's not a good business plan.

The Penal Code in question is
Quote:
16150.

(a) As used in this part, except in subdivision (a) of Section 30305 and in Section 30306, “ammunition” means one or more loaded cartridges consisting of a primed case, propellant, and with one or more projectiles. “Ammunition” does not include blanks.
Probably just there own store policy in order to be 200% safe (if mathematically impossible) in following state and government law even if they are in fact exceeding what is required by law.

I read in a thread somewhere on a gun forum they were complaining about one of these big box sports stores not accepting a trade-in of a rifle because he was missing some document not even required. Another poster that was an employee at these stores came in and explained it to a certain degree - the ATF and other state regulators might come in once every few years, or never. But for these big chains they come in ALL THE TIME. For them they are going to go above and beyond following the law, they are going to actually exceed compliance with the law, if for no other reason to not give the feds (or CA) another reason to audit them. It's just part of business.
