At a complete stop if I turn the wheel all the way one way with vehicle and drive my truck will just sit there till I straighten the wheel any help would be greatly appreciated

Needing some help.
I recently slid my 2000 Mitsubishi off the road and ran over a ditch and hit the bottom of my car.
Well everything is fine except one problem. My air bags deployed and I don't have a reset sensor built in my car. I was informed that if I do not have on that my car is totalled. But that I could try to unhook my batt cables and put them together for about a min and that should reset my cars computer system.... do you think that would over ride the air bag crap and my car might finally start on me
