I just registered my four children, two girls/two boys, at Eden Hope Academy. Has anyone heard of it? They have three locations in Virginia and are starting new groups in San Antonio -- random to go from VA to TX.

They give you everything you need to start of Christian co-op. It's pretty cool. They have the books, timeline cards, art projects, science stuff, and even Spanish and ukulele.

    Here's what the founder says:

Eden Hope Academies are located in Reston, Catlett and Leesburg, Virginia and opening soon in Bethesda, Maryland. Our K-4 - 12th grade students meet once each week for half hour sessions of Bible, Ukulele and Dance, Spanish, Presentation, Messy Art, and Anatomy with Dissections. Our GIANT, full-color book contains almost all of each year's Bible, science, geography, Spanish, vocabulary. Eden Hope Activity Books are packed with fun activities and great learning. Eden Hope students are active learners. They even create their own Timeline Cards! See our website under blog for pictures of our students' work. Drop-off is available at most campuses. All are welcome! www.edenhopeacademy.com

Hello, un/homeschooling blended family of 12 yo dd, 5 yo ds and three adult boys on their own (public schooled). We are looking to relocate from Northern Indiana to the Phoenix-Mesa area, and I'd love to connect with anyone in that area to find out what homeschooling in AZ is like!

Hi all. My name is Maxine. I have a 9yo daughter that wants to be homeschooled. I want to do it too but I just don't have enough information yet. We're currently in Florida where teachers teach to a test called the FCAT. I volunteered in the classroom a while back and felt so sorry for the kids. The teacher was doing her best but I could sense the kids slowly being disconnected from their joy of learning. I asked my husband about homeschooling and he says for us to wait until the year is out and see how she does on the FCAT.

He's getting ready to retire (military) and I would love to take at least a year of cross- country travel as an educational adventure. Maybe if I nag enough, he'll give in (sigh).

Anyway, I was hoping to get some anecdotal accounts of some your experiences in the homeschooling process. I thank you for whatever you'd like to share.

    Kind regards. Maxine
