Hello Service Members Active and Retired, thank you all for your service! I am a proud military spouse. My husband is a Sgt. in the Army and has served now for almost 12 years. His plan is to retire. I having seen so much of the mental effect the military service has on the soldiers and the families, chose to get my degree in Psychology. I am but a few classes from my bachelors. I plan to work closely with soldiers active and retired as well as those closely related that have been effected by PTSD, service or combat related. I would also like offer positive psychology skills coaching to those soldiers who just need some help staying positive in what seems to be such a negative world. I will be offer that not just to soldiers but to the public as well. I am currently working on an essay about homeless veterans. I feel very strongly about the idea that no man or woman who serves this country should ever be seen on the street holding a sign. We the people owe you the service members our lives just as you put yours out there for us. That is just my opinion. Again Thank you for your dedicated service.

Hi everyone! This is a request for advice, or the names of some experienced lawyers. My sister is veteran and a government employee who, after 30 years of honorable service, needs to medically retire. She’s had reasonable accommodation already and has run out of of options, according to numerous physicians (she has MS). So now the VA is trying to outprocess her with no benefits. Basically, they want to fire her. This has been going on for about 5 years and all she wants is to retire with what’s left of her dignity. Can anyone offer any advice? Please?

I was in the Army from '79 - '86, was transportation, admin., and supply. A lot of family members on both sides of family. We covered all the military branches, I am the only female that served. Would love to hear from any Veterans. Also, what is the best site to order a mid - cost military ring?

hello, My Dad had served on various ships including: USS Tidewater AD-13, USS Robert I Paine DE 578, USS White Marsh LSD 8, USS YR 51, USS Orion AS 18, USS Kiowa ATF 72. My dad served on the USS Kiowa ATF-72 when he and other crew members participated in the first United States recovery of a living animal projected through space. The first successful American Astronauts both Monkeys, were recovered from the nose cone of an Army Jupiter Missile. I found this after I requested from the US Navy a copy of his Military records. also in the salvaging of A4D-2N aircraft buno 145080 during the period 24-27 November 1959. This and other things my dad has done made me proud of him. He was the one who got me interested into going to the US Navy to serve. To me he is my hero and there is nothing I can say or due to him to understand how I feel for what he has taught and shown me. My ancestors and family have served the United States while in the service. This is why Iam proud of my family served the country they believed in. I think others feel the same as I do about their family serving this country. My pldest brother served in the US Army in which they sent him to vietnam.

My time in the US Navy was good and some bad. I served on two Aircraft Carriers- USS John F. Kennedy CV-67 and USS Saratoga CV-60. My last 6 years was spent onboard the Saratoga where I was sent TAD to the MAA Department. I learned alot in that divison. My Rate is not a MAA but it is AS- Aviation Support Equipment Tech. in the AIMD Department. I was there for awhile until I was sent TAD to the MAA Division/LE Department. I went from Patrolman to Watch Commander. I have earned both wings- EAWS and ESWS- EAWS - Enlisted Aviation Warefare Specialist and ESWS- Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. I enjoy learning new programs which kept my mind busy. I visited various countries inwhich I enjoyed. I was selected to be part of the PSD Team- Protective Servies Team - did escorts for various countries dignitaries. If I had the chance I would go back in. while visiting Haifa, Isreal we lost 21 personnel when the liberty boat sunk 200 feet from the enlisted brow. That day I will never forget, I try to but can't. The miltary has a lot to offer and different fields a person can go in. it is there for everyone takings. to all vets thanks.
