All true, but still its 2017, and all these cars are still mostly internal combustion powered, still break down and need fixed, still rolling on tires and need roads, etc.

At what point does the next leap forward happen? I believe we should be seeing vehicles depicted in sci fi movies by now, not so much flying cars, but hovering cars, that sit about 6" off the ground, need no wheels or tires, powered by either electromagnetic, counter-rotating magnetism, some form of anti-grav, or...? I realize this sounds fantastic, but heck its 2017 now, cars in the form we know them, should be on the way out the door, giving way to the next thing.

We dont even see anyone trying either, where are all the great inventors of our time, the people who will come up with the things that will drastically change technology, at one time, there were lots, Tesla and others like him were always experimenting, trying new things, even putting them on display sometimes for the public...I cant ever recall anything like this in my lifetime, nothing new is really groundbreaking anymore, it doesnt make people awe or make their jaw drop in disbelief.

Just used windows 10 for the first time, not much different than Vista.
Took forever to install a printer, technology is a scam.
They want us to think we're saving time, but it's all an illusion.
Printer ink cartridges add up quickly.

I had no trouble setting up my printer or any other peripheries after downloading Windows10.

You perfectly free to use the technology of your choice, even if that is a quill. No one forced you to use Windows10.

This ties into my topic, as billions were spent on technology after Katrina. Most experts agree it won't save New Orleans should they get hit again.
And you think we have room for another 7 billion?, would it be your intention of using our national parks for crops, pigs, cattle, and chickens or will the government use eminent domain for private land??.
To explain, the Earth is a big place. We do not have to bring everyone to the United States. That was an example of how much land that we have in this Nation. I realize that with liberals we need to talk in literal terms. Need to make sure I refrain from using examples and tell it in the simplest form possible.

The Government did plenty during the last administration in taking peoples land away and placing into the National Park service. We don't need anymore of that. We have plenty of farmers that can feed the world. We seem to do that as it is now.

As it is we have been paying farmers to not grow food. We don't need to do that. Forget subsidizing non productive land. Let the market take care of how much food we grow. We don't need Government intervention in business and farming is a business.

What the world needs to do is change. Governments need to change. The people of the world need to realize that the United States is the Greatest Nation on Earth. What the people of the United States need to realize is that Conservatism, the Market economy, Capitalism work. The American people need to realize that Socialism, Communism, and Fascism do not work. They are destructive in nature. This is why we feed the world and these other nations are having a hard time of it.

You missed the point of his post in trailing off into yet another political diatribe of Liberalism vs Conservatism.

A couple of problems, people can not always be trusted to govern themselves which is why government exists. They could be better yes but no more than leaving people to their own devices. Also that there are some parts of the world more suitable for farming and growing food or at least certain crops than others.

Due to technology, 1% of the U.S. population feeds the other 99. I'm not sure it's such a good thing, that figure is disproportionate. Sustainability dictates a higher % involved in agriculture.
Point being, we are too dependent on technology.
But, I'm the sort that believes technology will someday fail.

And Microsoft is a joke, I prefer windows vista to the current 10.
10 is the same formatting as Vista, only with a few added features I don't need or use.
Then they cease supporting older versions, to force you into another purchase.

We began ur shift from agricultural based society during the second industrial revolution. While Agriculture is the premier model of self-sufficiency and sustainability there's a reason why we haven't turn back, our quality of life has improved immensely since those times.

Has it really improved?. I asked myself this question upon stepping off a plane after residing in the Dominican Republic for 2 years. Down there 40% feeds the other 60. And as a whole, Dominicans are more content overall. I was saddened to have left a country with smiles, only to be met with frowns at an airport the day before a holiday no less.
Perhaps the simplicity of what we call a third world country is what our broken society lacks.

But that simplicity comes with a price. There's a reason why many Americans are not flocking to the Dominican Republic and it isn't because of hurricane. I have nothing against those countries or their people but there are always trade offs.
