Development takes time..
Generations influence a city's growth
I figure- why not have fun
Many of the projects underway in Georgia will take decades

I've created a few drafts of how Georgia could look...
Starting with interchanges and skylines

I do not intend to offend anyone with these ideas- this is simply for our imagination

Drop your own ideas in the thread as well- I'd love to create more detailed layouts

Here is a concept: Columbus Georgia- Veterans Parkway as an Expressway
It would be a joint interchange- similar to I-85 at I-285 in Southwest Atlanta
The expressway would end at 15th Street

Possible Interchanges/ Exits

Talbotton Rd (for the Hosipital)
River Rd
Manchester
Airport Thruway & 54th
Whitesville Rd (Northbound Only)
I-185

Macon- Interstate 14 Connection

I believe that I 14 should go along Eisenhower Pkwy
(I don't wish for people to lose their homes)
However- this route would spark development south of the city
Creating somewhat of a mini loop around downtown
The interstate could then continue to Augusta after connecting to US 80 by Riggins Mill

Possible Exits

Broadway
Edgewood Ave & or 7th St
11th St
Lower Poplar
I-16
Riggings Mill Rd / 23

An interstate from I-24 in TN (around the GA,AL,TN lines) that ran down and connected back into I-75 in Georgia so you could bypass Chattanooga completely..

This is brilliant!
That corridor is horrendous!
Definitely going to play around with that idea!

A spur of I-85 or I-20 from Atlanta to Athens? Unless it would displace too many people, as interstates often do?

Extend the Silver Comet bike trail that currently runs from the Alabama state line into the western edge of Atlanta. Continue it west to Athens and Augusta, making it a cross-state bicycle path.

Missouri has a cross-state bicycle route (the Katy Trail) along a former railroad grade, just like the Silver Comet was built. It attracts thousands of riders from many parts of the US and beyond.

Georgia State Route 316 appears to effectively be the spur route off of Interstate 85 between metro Atlanta and Athens.

GA-316 just should have been built as a grade-separated superhighway (freeway or toll road) from the very beginning, and not as a dangerous (and sometimes deadly) high-speed surface highway that is littered with stoplights and at-grade crossings.

Building a spur route off of I-20 East between metro Atlanta and Athens is a good idea.

I would have liked to have seen US-78 upgraded to a grade-separated superhighway between Snellville and Athens. I also would have liked to have seen an erstwhile proposed bypass built around the north side of Snellville between Ronald Reagan Parkway on the west and US-78 Athens Highway on the east.

Though, Gwinnett County and the City of Snellville didn’t keep the right-of-way of the proposed road free of development, so construction of such a road is impossible at this point.

So far- 316 is coming along nicely- I hope they just make an interchange at the Athens bypass in the end- and point downtowners east to exit 8
