What veggies or fruits are are people in Zone 8 planting now? Also for organic garding, what is a good ratio of soil to compost to trace minerals/Rock Dust/ Azomite?
Nobody in the southern states is doing any gardening? I thought now was the best time to plant things like the cabbage, broccoli and kale and thought some of you might be doing it who are in the south. I guess I was wrong.
Wife (the gardener) has planted turnips, mustard, and radishes that I know of. She mentioned that the turnips were up in about three days which was a great surprise to her.

Here (zone 8a) it was that time about September 1st. You want them to be well established before frost comes or the little plants will just sit there all winter and not grow until spring.
