It's best to avoid bread, overall it's really bad for you.
This is not true. There are plenty of athletes, bodybuilders and other people in decent shape that eat bread.

It's important to look at the context of everything you eat in a day as a whole rather than vilifying specific foods as inherently bad.

Bread shouldn't be most of your diet, but it can be a part of balanced diet assuming you're eating fruits, veggies, and protein sources too.

Okay. What brand of bread is not bad for you? Because we would love to be able to eat more bread than 1 piece a week of sourdough

Went grocery shopping today.

Spurned the meat @ $4.99/lb. and up.

Got canned beans @ $.89/pound (price for one can of 16 oz).

Probably better for me, too.

More fiber, good protein and low in bad fats...

Ezekiel Sprouted Whole Grains Bread is pretty good...we eat it in reasonable amounts...it's in the frozen food section.

Define bad? What aspect of bread do you see as bad? What do you believe are the negative consequences if you eat bread?

I can't speak for the other poster. Those of us who are susceptible to diabetes really need to watch our bread intake because of the way it raises our blood sugar. I'm not diabetic yet, but it is genetically inherited in my family. I love bread, but try to keep my consumption of it to a minimum so I feel better for longer.

I love the name and what it represents. The first ingredient is wheat

I cannot find the label to see what the main ingredients are- meaning the ratio which is key.
