I've heard alot of negative comments regarding North Fort Myers. South Fort Myers is too expensive for me. CC and Fort Myers are too crowded for me. I want a boat in the back yard. The North Fort Myers areas of Riverbend and Admiralty seem nice. Is it okay over there?

My cousin lives in N Ft Myers. Riverbend is very nice. I don't know about Admiralty. The development is across from the Suncoast neighborhood and her convertible top was slashed twice in her parking lot.
There are a lot of nice developments in N Ft myers now but when you drive around some of the side streets there are a lot of crummy looking places. That's not to say the people are crummy but Suncoast on Bayshore has a terrible reputation.

I looked on a map and it looks like Suncoast is about 1/2 a mile north of Bayshore Rd.
Admiralty is by the river. There is also Daugherty Creek homes by the river and some other developments that all seem ok. I think anywhere in SW florida you can have a bad neighborhood one mile away from your home. Cape Coral has the North, Fort Myers has the East.

I didn't realize Ft Myers even had bad areas..... maybe had my eyes closed then... I used to live in Sarasota and am now in Wyoming at Montana border. I want to move back to Florida and have been considering Ft Myers- because I hope to work part-time someday- I am a registered nurse, but haven't worked for awhile.
Can anyone tell me about what has happened to the nursing profession in Ft Myers area (including Sarasota/Venice areas)?
Hope my dreams won't be dashed by the info!
Thank you

Are there affordable, gulf-access, waterfront homes in the Estero area?

There are really good deals all over, but Estero is a little higher priced, well worth it though if you find that deal. Estero blows away any of these areas down here as far as I am concerned. My boss has a really nice Gulf access house for sale in a really nice part of Cape Coral. $399K though...

I'd never live in N. Fort Myers. It's the butt of most jokes in the sw area. Just drive down any of the main roads and look left or right. Junk and unkept buildings and homes. Stay South of the North.
