The Everglades are on fire. The smoke is heavy in the air and for the first time in years we found ash on our cars this morning. Areas affected reach beyond Weston.

If you find ash on your car you must get it washed immediately as it will affect the paint.

Oh that is awful!! The weather channel has been talking about that same fire and also about one near Jacksonville. How long has Florida been in a drought now? The western part of my state has had a seven year drought and hopefully this won't be number eight.

7 years of drought is horrible. We're not as bad as some areas, but it's bad. My office is in Plantation which is 11 miles from our home and you can smell the smoke here.

We started water restrictions about 1 month or so ago. We are now down to watering lawns to 2 days a week which, I realize, is still a luxury. For more info:

Those glades wildfires are awful. The stink goes for miles.

My sympathies!

Today was the first day we haven't had the smoke(Jax) from the GA fires.
I noticed it was worse at the beach yesterday.

I remember growing up in Miami with a brush fire all the way to the backyard. This is nothing new, and not as bad as it was in 2001. Well, not yet...
