My husband and I are from Texas and will be cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale next month. We really want to eat at a good seafood restaurant the evening before our cruise. We will be staying near the cruise port.......any recommendations? We don't loved fried seafood, but love grilled fish with some sort of sauce.

The 15th Street Fishery is great, but a little on the pricey side. I guess that's what you pay for excellent seafood. The entries ranged from $25-$40. The shrimp/calamarie appetizer was huge, like an entry and you can order side dishes for about $5-7. Soups and salads were about $5-7 too.

I agree about 15th Street Fishery, great food but pricey, lobster is amazing though and so is the homemade bread. If your going to have one "fancy/expensive" night out this is it. I reccomend Catfish Dewey's they have nights of All You Can Eat Crablegs, Catfish, etc... Seems like every other night there is an all you can eat special. Also...great lunch spot/happy hour spot in Ft. Lauderdale is Aruba Beach Cafe, awesome food, inexpensive, live music 4-7pm and right on the beach. You litterally see the waves crashing to the shore in the background. I think it's on Commercial Blvd.

Oh...and for the person who reccomended Southport Raw Bar...good place but they brought the appetizer out at the same time as the Main Course!!! They need to learn the timing of a meal, what good does a plate full of potatoe skins do me when you serve it at the same time as my Halibut! Tell me...because i'd love to know.

I have to dissent. I don't like 15th street Fishery. Overated and overpriced.

Love The Rustic Inn in Dania. Not far from the port. Good crabs, not that expensive.
