The streets in downtown Ft Lauderdale were completely flooded with cars just left there. A lot of bmws I must say. If I had a bmw I wouldn't leave it in the middle of the street in downtown FtL. Or try to drive in flooded waters.

humorously the weather forecast on 10 channels is slightly cloudy but outside its downpouring. I told everyone yesterday it would rain as I had a migraine

I have no sympathy. I lived in Pompano Beach back in the 70s & 80s. We had a few storms back then that would overwhelm the storm drains and localize flooding would occur. Would see reports on channels 4, 5, 7, 10, and 12 about alligators from local canals swimming in neighborhoods. My mom, who worked two jobs always carried flood insurance because she knew it was wise. Being a kid, I would break out a float and "boat" down the roads.

I lived in Broward in the 70s-80s and can only remember hurricane David flooding the streets ('79 I think).

This flooding last week was a "1000 yr storm".........26 inches in 24 hours

Tropical Storm Fay dumped over 2 feet on Brevard County in a three day period in 2008.
