The only true downtowns in South Florida are in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

There are however pockets of walkable areas however, Lake Ave in Lake Worth/The entire Dixie Ave in Palm Beach County, Delray Beach’s Atlantic Ave, Boca Raton’s Mizner area, Las Olas in Lauderdale, Midtown Miami, Wynwood in Miami(if you’re brave) etc.

Las Olas in downtown Ft. Lauderdale is very walkable. However, there are numerous other locations throughout Ft. Lauderdale that have stores to meet many of your everyday needs within a few blocks of your home. My neighborhood only has a walkability rating of 25 but within 1/2 to 1 mile I walk daily to numerous restaurants and stores. Off 17th Street the neighborhoods have a Publix, Winn Dixie and Whole Foods within a few blocks of most neighborhoods. A similar situation exists on Sunrise Blvd near the Middle River.
