Moving to SE FL next spring
I'm concerned with being priced out of the most sought after/desirable neighborhoods: Flagler V, Victoria Park, Sailboat Bend, Tarpon River, etc.

I'd like to stay as much as possible east of I-95, preferably close to downtown or close to US 1, Sunrise Blvd, 17th St, etc. because of their high walk score for shopping and mass transportation accessibility

I would consider going as far south as Poinciana/Croissant Park as far north as Imperial Point.

Any current up and coming neighborhoods anyone can recommend that I should consider even if not as nice as the ones listed above?

Much appreciated

Alfredo

Within those parameters, I think your budget will go further looking at neighborhoods in Oakland Park.

Have you spent any time in Fort Lauderdale? Sunrise/17th are both sketchy at US1, homeless everywhere.

I agree. Check out the neighborhoods south of Commercial Blvd, west of US1, east of Dixie Highway and north of Oakland Park Blvd. https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...JkAr%5DNyB_%40

What's your budget? Any kids? Condo/Co-op or SFH? There are some affordable options depending on the type of home you are looking for, family structure and age.

I did and I did see some homeless on US 1 south of 17th St on an early weeknight. Not right on 17th St though

I did not see them on Sunrise/US 1 intersection at least not during the day

I did see a lot around the bus/train stations over at Brightline and TriRail

Up to $1,800.00 rent as much as possible for a 1Bd Apartment preferably, will buy in a year or two approx.
Hubby just retired this year, no kids
I'll work for another 5 years at least approx.

There is a homeless camp right on 17th at the Walgreens diagonally across from the whole foods. You will see 10-12-15 people there 24/7. Sunrise west of Searstown usually has a group of homeless. Broward Blvd between US1 and I95 is a free for all of homeless, drug addicts and crazies.
