New window costs (estimates, pay, places)

Hi all. Question. Has anyone replaces their windows lately?

I need to replace the windows in the enclosed patio. I call it a lanai, but maybe it’s not called that, but where ever the name, the windows do need to be replaced.

I got some estimates. All of the estimates quotes 18,000. I nearly fell off the chair each time a new salesman came to give the quote. It sounds outrageous to me. It’s only one room. Grant it, it’s a whole wall of windows, but 18,000 sounds crazy to me.

I realize we are in an inflation now. I’m curious if anyone has recently replaced your windows. Like in the past couple of months? I know neighbors who have done so, but a year or more ago and didn’t pay not nearly as much.

So I thought I’d ask here. Im thinking the prices just have to go down eventually.
