Tortuga first timers coming down. Staying at Lago Mar hotel. Older folks so dont plan on getting into the craziness, although we are bar people.

Lago Mar looks perfect for us as a break from the concert craziness.

But walking access is suspect. Have to walk the beach north to get around the condo development, then back to the street.

Plus Lago Mar is further to the bar district.

So anyone been down that area for the concert?

Do the crowds make it a ****-show to get into any bars or restaurants?

Thoughts on Lago Mar, and also maybe walking to the concert area?

It's completely walkable. During the day you could easily walk the beach. Maybe 1/2 to 3/4 miles to the stage. Later you can walk the sidewalk on A1A and take Mayan Ave. It's a less than a mile from the stage back to Lago Mar.

I've stayed there, it is a nice "old Florida" style resort.

The beach walk will likely be shorter than the street walk because of the canals in front of Lago Mar, you have to walk/drive around them the long way to get back to the 17th street causeway.

If you walk the street, pay attention! People drive like nuts around that curve. 3 teens in a tesla crashed right there a couple years ago at over 80 mph (two burnt to death, the 3rd was ejected but survived)

Heading down today so I’ll see soon enough. Thank you for your information. Interesting and sad point about the roadway!

We actually ended up getting a car Rental. We’ll still walk to concert. We thought Uber would be good enough getting around town but concerned the concert fans in town will impact (although the argument can be made that they’ll all be in the concert until 11pm. We have tickets but don’t plan on being there every day )

Just rambling

Unless you are in REALLY good shape, that walk is tough up the beach. The sand is really deep there and it is hard to walk through the sand.

I do hope you come back and tell us how it went!
