I'm only in town for an afternoon in mid December. Wondering what to do to keep my partner happy while we wait for a flight the next day. (Going on a cruise.)

I've considered going down to Miami, maybe having dinner there. Or maybe it's not worth it and I should stay in Fort Lauderdale?

We're staying at the Renaissance Hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

Definitely not worth going down to Miami. Lots to see and do in FTL - hang out around Las Olas or The Strip (beach).

(and you don't have to speak Spanish up here)

I'd hit the Casino at Dania Beach. Smoke-free and much better payouts than the Hard Rock.

Just go hang out around Beach Place until the sunsets, then check out Las Olas Blvd...

Maybe catch an Uber to the Hard Rock Casino to see the new Guitar building.

Catch the water taxi for the day and evening.

The big houses on the water light up for the holidays. Definitely stay on the water taxi at night to see the decorations. The front of the homes faces the water not the street.

Tons of great dining for lunch and dinner on the water taxi, 15th Street Fisheries, all of 17th Street, Las Olas, Bohampers, Shooters, Flip Flops to name a few.

www.WaterTaxi.com

It's also a great way to see Fort Lauderdale.
