I am numb. Great school, great city, how could this have happened? My sympathies to the victims, students, staff & parents.

What is going on within us?

The sad truth is that the perpetrators never learned that if he/she ever needed to go off and do such a thing, that he/she should start with him/herself.

i dont know about where you live but where i live in jersey we have monthly bullying seminar's in the schools for students, commercials and billboards social media advertising for places and people to talk to if your being bullied, are a bully or need help mentally. lots of money is spent on education for this. I just dont know what else can be done for troubled people anymore.

I know; I just got off the phone with a friend who is from England and also lives in the states now. She said the same thing.

And the suspect apparently lives in Wyndham Lakes in Coral Springs—another wealthy area of the city. What is going on? Are these people suffering that much in life to take another’s?

Combination of easy access to firearms and poor impulse control. It's become so common in the USA that it's not even newsworthy, unless high fatality count.

I work at FAU in Boca and Douglas in a large feeder school to FAU and some students were telling me that "it was only a matter of time" because bullying there is apparently really bad. So so tragic.

That makes me really sad. I grew up in Sweden and I was never bullied as a kid, I always had support for my fellow students. I don't why bullying is so big in USA but it makes me sad.

It is not the guns, guns have always been around, IMO it all started when parents could no longer discipline their children and both parents having to work in order to be able to support a family.

Whatever the cause, it is a so very sad things like that are happening at all.
