One woman told me she leaves her car at a parking lot and takes the metromover to avoid driving to Brickell. Another said she has to get to her Brickell office at 7:30 am or not get there until 10:00. Also parking is limited and can be expensive. Frankly, I decided if I wasn't going to live near Brickell, I could not stand the commute, so I'm looking to work and live further north in Miami Bch or Ft. Lauderdale as I have heard it is a somewhat easier commute.
The problem is there are tons of irresponsible people who choose to live an hour away from their place of employment in Brickell.

Forget it. I did that for a few months, not because it was my decision, but because my company was bought out by another one and it was relocated from Miami Lakes to downtown Miami. Luckily I found another job by the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport and now I only take 595 and get to the office in 20 minutes. From Weston to downtown Miami it used to take me from an hour to hour and a half on a good day. From down town to Weston one day it took me four hours to get home -95 was shut down due to an accident and Okeechobee RD was a parking lot. by the time you get home you're irritated and everyone has gone to sleep. Whoever is commuting from Weston to downtown Miami has no life.

Well, I think everyone said most everything. Just to add - closing costs typically run 2 - 5% of the sale price of the home.
