I used, to get dinner to go, there often, many years ago, there was one near my office. Handy, & better then MickeyD, which it was adjacent to. Now I only see some meals in the freezer at the supermarket.

I think they kind of went the way of Marie Callender's in the sense that while there are still several locations around the US, they are much easier to find in the frozen food aisle at the supermarket.

Speaking of I picked up a few of their frozen meals today they are decent and better than some other brands.

The Boston Market on DE 896 in Newark, DE looked like this in August 2023...

https://www.google.com/maps/@39.6516...8192?entry=ttu

When the chain changed its name, I imagined Linda Ronstadt parodying her first hit ("Different Drum", with the Stone Poneys) thusly...

Oh, don't get me wrong, it's not that I knock it
But why did Boston Chicken become Boston Market?

The name change rendered obsolete my nickname for the Red Sox (then still fighting The Curse of the Bambino [Google it]): the Boston Chickens.

Full disclosure: I've never set foot in a Boston Chicken/Boston Market (although I patronized the aforementioned now closed Newark, DE location when it was a Roy Rogers).

I've been to two Boston Markets but it's been years ago. Both times the food was decent. I looked at their Wikipedia page and to say that they had plenty of issues is putting it mildly.

I used to love Boston market. They disappeared in California when I was there. Then here in metro Atlanta they seem to disappear too. The one closest to me became a chipotle.

I was going to say we still had one, but I just checked on the website. It says permanently closed.

Used to like it, years ago, but the last couple of times I got food there, which was now maybe seven or eight years ago, I couldn't get over how salty it was. I mean, most fast food and restaurant food is salty, but this was exceptionally so. I thought at first it was just certain items, but no, everything I tried was super salty.

I am a person who LOVES mashed potatoes. If I can't get your mashies down because they taste like you cooked them in ocean water, that's pretty bad.

Won't mourn them.
