Canning played a role, too.

Truffles. They smell and taste like dirt to me. I don’t get it.

Raw oysters - I had them at a fancy city bar, so probably pretty nice ones. I was worried they'd be icky, but there was no such problem. On the other hand, they didn't have a lot of taste - reminded me of clean seawater. I thought "That was it? What is all the excitement about?"

P.S. and for what it's worth, I also quite enjoy lobster. I don't eat them a lot because they're pricey, but I love a lobster roll especially.

Kombucha, Kimchi, Kefir, and other fermented non alcoholic drinks. Yuck.
Also that stuff with the globby bubbles suspended in it, like giant frogs eggs. Double yuck.

Voice of reason. Thank you!

Oysters too. Things get hyped. Some people buy into it.

But I love raw oysters! Not because of the hype, because I like the taste. Grew up on raw clams, so I prefer them as they are typically smaller, but you can’t really get littlenecks here in Louisiana.
You have to chew them, not just swallow them whole. No flavor if you just swallow them.

Just like you, others enjoy the other stuff, not for the hype, but because they like it.

I love kombucha and truffle, and lots of the other stuff. Not a fan of oysters, I don't like the texture, though I haven't tried them different ways.

Love kombucha (I brew it at home), kefir, and kimchi. Fermented foods are so good for you.

I don't like raw seafood or anything meat/egg related that is gooey or gloppy, so oysters are out as well as the fried and poached eggs that show up on everything nowadays. I can tolerate Japanese mochi and the tapioca balls in boba tea, but can't fathom why they have become so popular.

Lobster for me. It’s delicious but too much work for too little food.

Greek yogurt. Is it just me who can’t tell the difference from “regular” yogurt?

Avocado. Yuck texture.

Meat in general. I specifically dislike pork, but unless it’s highly highly over seasoned or has a ton of sauce on it, a slab of meat on the plate is highly unappealing. It can be good as an element of a meal, though, like in a burrito, beef stroganoff, etc.

Cheesecake. I like the idea, but I can’t get past the first bite.

Chick fil a. Bland, bland, bland.

Presley is like CFA. To me, it has no flavor and serves no purpose aside maybe from being a pretty little garnish.

Pumpkin pie. I actually don’t mind pumpkin pie, but I discovered sweet potato pie and much prefer that.
