This might be an answer.

Soon after Napa Valley grapes are harvested, it's time to pick the olives.

Although Napa Valley is known for its grapevines, it's also full of olive trees. The climate is perfect for the long-lasting trees, and they keep their leaves during the winter to provide color as well.

Ha! Go and tell the California olive oil producers how much you "know."

You're obviously stuck on the information you read on the "interwebs." If you had any anecdotal evidence, or cases where you actually used the product(s), you would understand the flaws in your statements. Fortunately, most of the folks here are well-versed in their culinary knowledge, and they have quite a bit of anecdotal evidence to back-up their claims.

Keep banging that drum, but the rest of us will continue to enjoy sweet, fruity, grassy olive oil, full of healthful polyphenols.
