I just made pancakes with mini choc. chips for breakfast this morning. Tough to do for one, but I just cut the recipe in half (mix) and used a whole egg instead of half an egg. Mmmmmm....

If anyone lives near an Aldi's, they have a good price on real maple syrup, about $16 a quart. (usually $18 up in VT). Also Target is similar price.

Lately Hampton inns have been adding raspberry syrup drizzle and whipped cream to the waffle toppings - OMG are they good.

Never used a mix. I make a yeasted batter that rises overnight on the counter. In the morning, I add the melted butter and eggs while the waffle iron heats. Takes about five minutes to cook, and the kids eat them with either maple syrup or fruit compote. I love to make other kinds of waffles, too. Daughter just found a recipe for savory waffles made with mashed potatoes and cheese. Going to try it out this week.

I made waffles this morning and they were so good with butter and hot maple syrup on them. I use a mix for just about everything because I'm not that good of a cook, which explains why I order take-out at restaurants so often.

The hotel waffles are SO good! Have you tried the maple flavored? I'm looking for the mixture for those. The regular are good, but once you taste the maple flavored, the regular goes to second best. If anyone knows please let me know.

Everyone has got to try ButtersWorths pancakes/waffles, simply the best! No one can touch that butters worth taste. You can add clear syruo to the mix for added flavor, but this brand has a light semi sweet taste to them. Dont let the name fool you into thinking its filled with butter.

Actually most hotels and Disney use Golden Malted waffle mix. I work at Hampton inn.

I have had Buckwheat waffles at one of the Hilton hotels. Very good. If I do make pancakes I make them from scratch.

Last week we were in CO & NM. We had the BEST waffles... ever.
Better than IHOP... and I love their wafffles. I'm a waffle kind of girl
I found out that the Hotel uses a mix & just adds water to it. I found the mix on Amazon.

Has anyone tried this mix ? If so.... what did you think ???

Thanks...
I travel for work and like the waffles and pancakes at the hotel breakfasts. But they always have some fake maple syrup so I eat them with just butter. At least the hotels have real butter and not margarine.

I’ve thought about bringing my own real maple syrup with me when I travel. We only buy the real thing, and it is reasonably priced at Costco and Sam’s Club.

Our mom only bought real maple syrup when we were growing up and I have never liked the fake stuff. And if you read the ingredients on imitation maple pancake syrup it is basically corn syrup artificially flavored, artificially colored water.
