I just let all those silly things roll off my back-unless ofcourse I find it to be rude, lol.

Thanks! And congrats on your marriage! I am super excited-even though it's a little over a year away!

Because of that rude comment, I asked here where she was from, because those kinds of comments typically come from people who are from certain areas of the northeast I have noticed.

Congrats in your engagement btw. I got married in May as well.

Gainesville, Palatka, Tally, Jacksonville, Crytsal River, Panhandle; it's all the same scene. Meaning if you're married, honeymooners with kids and you work a 9-5 job, your religious, etc or you're a redneck, retireed person then you will enjoy this area of the US. Others who don't fit this category you will be depressed eventually leading to sobbing or heavily medicated like me. My advice? Don't fight it... leave the college kids these towns and take your adult self to the real world -- South Florida, Tampa, LA, Rio, Madrid, Seattle, NYC, etc.

Yes, or Ocala, Live Oak, Lake City, White Springs, Mayo, Madison, Perry, and anything surrounding is straight bo-dunk-ville.

I'm not sure why it's breaking news to anyone that a college town isn't a good place for someone single and older. This goes for any true college town.
