So are we.. Probably in the early 2007 time period.. We have relatives that live in the area and have told us sink holes are few and far between inland.. Mostly along the coast line.. We're building new when we move...

Good luck on your venture..

I live in Spring Hill...I have been here since last Summer..I love it here.
The paper just did an article that said Hernando county had a lower rate of sink holes than Pasco County. It is a great place to live.

Jim, Hernando county (Spring Hill) is notorious for sink holes. Actually, it's been in the national news this past week...several newer homes in the same neighborhood have been damaged by sinkhole activity! From what I understand, there is no rhyme or reason to them, and it's pretty much widespread around here. As you know, Florida in general has this problem. One good thing thus far... homeowner's insurance covers it... unlike flood insurance, you don't have to pay extra for it!

Retiring to Spring Hill after 30 years in law enforcement. Looking for peace and quiet. It sounds like Spring Hill is a wonderful place to go. Any info or contacts would be aprreciated.
