+1000. If you remember the Bank of America robbery in California years back, when the robbers engaged police in a fully-automatic firearm shootout, I can say that cops should NEVER take any chances with bank robbers. You don't know what information the cops had that we, the public, or the media, don't have. If I was one of those troopers, I think I'd feel a lot better having 29 of my buddies backing me up...a show of force is also good intimidation for the bad guy- he's less likely to engage officers in a shootout, since he knows darn well he's going to be swiss cheese if he takes one shot.
30 cars may be a little overkill, sure. But I don't think you'll hear one of those cops complaining about it-they do a job you or I wouldn't do, so it sure as heck ain't fair to try to analyze their tactics (in this instance, that is).

Of course, crime is rare and they all went to experience it first hand! I would rather have them chasing violent criminals than sitting behind signs and bridges waiting for unsuspecting motorists. They did their job so who cares if they had 100 highway patrols surrounding the crook(s)?

I think we need these officers in Bradenton.

10 bank robberies in one month and 3 between Friday and Monday.

Bradenton obviously needs better enforcement or wait, maybe it was actually layed off bank employees going postal....

I heard about the truck chase on the news on the way to work yesterday evening. I too thought it seemed to be quite a few police cars to bring down one vehicle. Then again, I guess the main emphasis was to keep all the civilians safe.

I thank the law enforcement men an women that were involved.
What I got out of the article was that the suspects were apprehend and no one was hurt. Sounds like a job well done.
