Sorry, not sure where to post this, as I don't see plain old Palm Beach.

Hope it's okay here?

Palm Beach Is Having a Category 5 Identity Crisis
PB vs. West Palm, entrenched elites vs. Gen X newbies, Everglades Club vs. Carriage House.

In Palm Beach, the newly arrived affluent are eschewing club ties or tuxedos at dinner in favor of short skirts, tube tops, and diamonds and sequins worn together to the grocery store. While many of the newcomers are snapping up properties in Palm Beach, legions more are flocking to its boomtown neighbor, West Palm Beach, with its looming luxury apartment buildings and office towers. And these interlopers are redefining what it means to be a vaunted member of exclusive, if sleepy, Palm Beach. If a certain slice of the country’s wealthiest individuals are living in a new Gilded Age, then—at least to the locals—Palm Beach is its 21st-century epicenter.

I'm certainly no "Palm Beacher" but I'm a native Palm Beach County resident and I frequent the Palm Beach island night scene (The Breakers, Buccan, La Goule, Cucina, Meat Market etc) and I'll tell you what I do notice, there is certainly a more relaxed atmosphere amongst the younger rich men (under 60) and a younger, sexier vibe with the women during nightlife hours (not quite Miami, but certainly not as stuffy in years past).

I can no longer easily tell off the bat who is filthy rich as opposed to who is just well off - I believe there is an unofficial covert wealth appearance movement going on. That Lamborghini suddenly becomes a Bentley Continental GT, that Bentley Continental GT now is a Mercedes-Benz etc.

I believe the younger crowd is more into travel and/or "experiences" as opposed to showy opulence Boomers and Gen X exhibited in the past.

So 60 is the dividing line between young and old?

Over here in SWFL 55 considered young in most areas lol. My retired cousin is 56. He visited me in Punta Gorda last year and when we were out to dinner commented how it seemed very old and he felt out of place!

Hahaha, actually under 60, so I would say 59 is the cutoff lol - Although with the fashion sense, healthy lifestyle, and cosmetic procedures, you'd be shocked how "youthful" mid to late 50s looks here on Palm Beach island.
