Since there is no real thread about the unsung heroes of public safety I figured I would start one. No employer bashing please. We can discuss what is happening within the state of EMS for the entire state. Since there is no real pipeline of things going on in the streets. I think we need a voice who is on the side of the grunts in the trenches. We ALL do the same job , fire / county or private just different patches and colors of trucks.

I'll start with an introduction. Paramedic for 24 years , EMS for a total of 34 years. I work for a private service in the SW area.

Let me extend my kudoes to you as a paramedic, EMT, for a job well done. Are you joining us as a new Florida resident, or just visiting? Either way, welcome to the Sunshine State.

I've seen the paramedics/EMTs at work in Miami-Dade and Charlotte counties over the years, and never fail to be impressed with their efficiency, their professionalism, and their kindness.
