Heard of a storm thats loaded with water
packed up and ready to go

Heard of some dry lawns out in the suburbs,
a place with no HOA's

The sound of thunder off in the distance
I'm getting used to it now

Lived in an apartment, lived in a townhouse,
I've lived all over this place.

This ain't no city, this ain't no metro
This ain't no irrigated lawns.
No time for sprinkling, or hand spraying,
I ain't got time for that now.

Transmit the RADAR, to the homeowner
Hope for some rainfall some day.
I got three pineapples, a couple of mango's
You won't even guess my water bill.

High on the ridgetop, the grass is browning,
Everything's ready to burn
I weed in the daytime and I water at nightime
I might not ever see growth.

This ain't no city, this ain't no metro
This ain't no irrigated lawns.
No time for sprinkling, or hand spraying,
I ain't got time for that now.

Heard about Tampa?
Heard about Sebring?
Heard about Pinelass CY?
You oughta know not to bathe
when it's lightning
The juice will find you in there.
I've got some rainwater, some roof overflow
To last a couple of days.
But I ain't got no sprinklers,
Aint' got no pressure
Ain't got no reclaimed water.

Double in payment, got thru the surcharge,
We blended in with the street.
We've got hoses, we're tapping hydrants
I know that that ain't allowed.
We dress like students,
We dress like housewives,
Or in a suit and a tie.
I've changed my water plan so many times now
I don't know what I should wet.
You make me shiver, I feel so tender
We make a pretty good lawn
Don't get exhausted, I'll do some watering.
You ought to get you some wine.
Burned all my water bills,
What good are water bills.
They won't help my lawn survive.
My grass is crinkling, burns like a wildfire
The smell keeps me alive
Get your garden hose
Follow your instincts..,.
