Will be in Seacrest area next week. My son (aged 7) has never fished before and wants to do some fishing to catch his first fish. I was thinking it would be great to find a pier/dock to fish on. Definitely do not want to do any guided or chartered fishing.

Anyone got advice on an easy place to go that is near Rosemary Beach area? Don't mind driving up to 30mins, if need be.

Thanks!

P.S>Bonus points: I am from South Padre Island area and one of the cool things about that is you can fish and then take it to a local restaurant to cook. Any place like that near Seacrest?

I would check out their local Next Door group or FB group. Seacrest is pretty small, I doubt anyone here is from there. Good luck and have a great time!

Are you talking about Seacrest Beach on 30a? There are no docks in the area unless you head east to Panama City Beach. Other than charters, or renting a small boat to take into the bay, fishing off the beach is the only way to really fish. It is also not easy as there are too many beachgoers and unless you have rented on the beach almost impossible to get out early enough to cast a line.
