I think this has been flying under the radar this whole time....out local law can not keep up..not even with the park rangers and marine patrol.....it's dangerous for these people....there's so many they are having to sit of the side of the road and wait for 2 days sometimes

Over 8000 have been apprehended....and half of that on land where they have to be processed, fed, doctored, and housed

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has mobilized the state national guard to help local officials respond to a large influx of Cuban migrants landing in the Florida Keys"

"DeSantis said Florida will deploy airplanes, helicopter and marine patrols to the area “to support water interdictions and ensure the safety of migrants attempting to reach Florida through the Florida Straits.”

"Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay, whose jurisdiction is most of the 180-mile (290-kilometer) Florida Keys island chain, said the influx is taxing his 194-deputy department and he wants the Democratic president and his administration to do more."

“I’m experiencing about 10 migrant loads per day in my small county, which for me, resources wise, is very challenging,” Ramsay said"

MCSO - Florida Keys

"Sheriff’s Office assists federal law enforcement during weekend spike in refugee arrivals in the Keys
The Sheriff’s Office has been assisting federal law enforcement agents with a spike in Cuban refugee arrivals since Saturday and continuing into Monday morning.
“Refugee arrivals require a lot of resources from the Sheriff’s Office as we help our federal law enforcement partners ensure the migrants are in good health and safe,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay. “Residents may see an increased amount of law enforcement and emergency responders throughout the county as we continue to respond to these landings.”
More than 160 refugees have landed mostly in the Middle and Upper Keys, as well as many as 300 on the Marquesas Keys and at Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas.
The Sheriff’s Office has been told by the U.S. Border Patrol that some migrant landings may have to wait for federal resources to arrive until the following day, aggravating the mass migration crisis in the Keys. This federal failure is creating a humanitarian crisis.
“This shows a lack of a working plan by the federal government to deal with a mass migration issue that was foreseeable,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay.
If residents see an arrival occurring, they should notify the Sheriff’s Office and provide a location."

Suddenly heading into campaign season it's a huge problem and now being "fixed". Immigrants have been crossing the Florida Straits in rafts for decades. It's amazing how much BS the sheeple willingly ingest.

Not gonna do any good. There will be a 100 million here within the next 10 years. Need gun boats with deck mounted 50 cal guns and let it rip and feed sharks on a lark. Or better yet chet we take over Cuba and make it our own. Think of the money to be made rebuilding. I would buy a 130ft Cat with 4 2000HP MTU's that could do a speed of 38knts in good weather that would leave Keywest. Get there in under 3 hours. I was just there at the Fort last May. And i saw one one from Cuba.

that's not the point.....if you had actually read it....

"Almost 8,000 Cubans and Haitians have been interdicted since August — about 50 per day compared with 17 per day in the 2021-22 fiscal year and just two per day during the 2020-21 fiscal year. Officials said at least 65 migrants have died at sea since August.

~150,000 came during Mariel.....this is ~250,000 just in 2022

if we think food prices are ridiculous here.....imagine Cuba if you can even find food

..and this past December was the worst so far.....our local police can't keep up

There's no way of knowing how many have died trying this so far either...but they've been finding bodies everywhere

Was going out there worth the trip? I've wanted to see the place for years but its a pain in the neck to get there!

Cuba has a lot of problems. Think about the desperation you would have to have to get on a homemade boat/raft and float 90 miles across the open ocean to get to America?

Would you really want to kill a desperate person and their families for seeking a better life? Florida is full of welfare cases that don't want to work and they would be too lazy to get on the boat!
