I get that rent is more expensive in a big city. But could I live somewhere decent in the area for $1100 a month? I already have a car, so commuting is not an issue.

I'm also really bored with where I live now. I feel like nothing ever happens here and I want to be somewhere where the action is. My politics are not as important if I can be somewhere with a lot of people my age. Does that help?

Is the poll a joke? Honest question

You're probably better off looking at Central or esp North FL. Maybe Jax

Yes, that helps.

At first glance it seems that at $1100, you might be able to find something old and small - probably a 1 bedroom apartment - adjacent to good neighborhoods in the major municipalities of the tri-county area.

Maybe a realtor can respond more precisely.

What kind of accommodations are you used to?

In my opinion, it wouldn't be worth it; I would feel more comfortable with a rental budget of $2000 per month, maybe $1800 or thereabouts.

I would roughly calculate that going to "where the action is" with a lot of people your age implies a total monthly budget of around $4,000-$6,000, depending on how you define "action".

All the best.

My Response ..........

1. Almost every area/neighborhood/city from Jupiter to Homestead is stressful minus some wealthy pockets like private Golf Clubs, Gated Communities, etc.

2. The minority of the super wealthy live in Super Bubbles so they obviously can afford the good life.

3. Any commute today from Jupiter to Homestead -- There are no shortcuts anymore.

4. 80% of the people (20% are good people) I see in my daily life living here are rude or vulgar or aggressive and even violent.

5. Many immigrants are very good decent people but they are the minority. I estimate 70% have an entitled rude attitude but 30% are hard working good people.

6. We Agree to a Point: The super wealthy who are lucky to live the oceanfront life -- it's always about 10 degrees cooler more less with some exceptions but the majority of the population do not live oceanfront -- but my point is true that living in South Florida or all of Florida from May to October feels like a Sauna when outdoors.
