Hi,
My significant other and I are relocating from south Florida. We are simply tired of the south Florida lifestyle. We are planning to move to Orlando. He is in banking business and I am in the health care field. We are both in our late 20s and are looking to start a family within the next 1-2 years. We are looking for a quiet safe neighborhood where traffic is not too bad. Which cities/towns should we be looking into?

It will depend upon where you think you'll be working as the metro area is very spread out, so some neighborhood suggestions might not make sense based on commute times.

Probably better to come up to Tallahassee. Orlando is the next sprawled out mess and is turning into south Florida.

Actually there is some credibility here and would consider other areas of the state as well that aren't on the verge of "South Floridaification". Tallahassee might be a bit much of a change but there's always the Jacksonville area...or smaller urban areas closer to Orlando like Melbourne and Lakeland.

We relocated from South Florida to Orlando and absolutely love it. If you are planning on adding kids to your family I'd suggest looking at where the best rated schools are. We live in Winter Park and love it. Maitland, College Park, Baldwin Park, Colonialtown are all good options. For healthcare you'd be close to Advent Health Florida Hospital or ORMC. And most large banking offices are downtown Orlando.
