Hmm, I think they are going to close this division. I think Jax or Tampa might be a good move

I've read and heard from several analysts who believe the banking/finance sector is steadily going to decline for various reasons. This article sums it up well, but it has me re-thinking my career path as I need at least another 10-15 years working before I can safely retire and get out of the rat race:

Thank to all for the responses. My SO is an auditor for internal banking finances, practices, and procedures, so it's an analyst type job. She also has a CPA, but I'm thinking that's more regionally independent. The financial industry is changing, yes, and in some ways shrinking, but we're hoping her area of expertise will still allow for decent employment opportunities.

You'll still have time for "a good run" before the industry dramatically, permanently changes I think...but everything changes, just look at the demise of the floor broker outcry system, or fast trading, or worse yet, bitcoin...

True, this isn't going to happen overnight.
