Does anyone know anythin about the West Port Middle High School? Thinking of moving to either West Ocala or Spring Hill and trying to figure out which of the two would have the best School System. My son will be going into 7th grade, and one of my main concerns is the school system. I come from a small town in New Hampshire and I feel that if he went to a decent school were he would be accepted then it would make the move a lot easier on him.

I notice no one answered you. Can't say I'm surprised. That's like asking for advice about choosing between a beating with a stick or a lashing with a whip. I don't know anything about Spring Hill or Ocala but I brought my children from NY to florida schools and I can tell you that you that if you're interested in a quality education my OPINION is you should look into private school. Now I'm sure you'll probably hear from irate floridians about how wonderful their schools are but if you look up the statistics, Florida ranks very low.....rely on statistics not opinions........

There is a web site called great schools.net I have looked on that, it is somewhat helpful. I wanted to see if there was anyone on this forum that may have any more helpful info. on these two schools. I have heard that the fl. schools are not that great, but I was hoping that since west port high is a somewhat new school that maybe it would be better than the others. I may have to start looking at private school.

I think everybody does know that Florida schools are really bad - even Floridians. Private school or home schooling is your best bet - from what I hear from those who have kids.
