In most states in the US, private individuals (not politicians or celebrities) can sue for being "subjected to public ridicule and humiliation."

There have been worse trends. Like the shorty shorts with sandals and socks look that men used to "rock" in the 70's and 80's. And the butt scrunch leggings and sports bra look that is all the rage now.

A family is shopping for groceries and their attire does not meet your standards. You may want to go to grocery stores in Europe with open eyes.
