Honestly, for $100 you should go to TJMaxx or Marshall's (if they are in your area) and see if you can find a leather bag to your liking there. The Handbag of God I don't know many 'brands' in leather in the style you want for that price. I just bought a new bag for just under $400. Not that they all cost that but you'll be hard-pressed to find too many 'brand' bags in leather for $100 or less unless you find one on markdown somewhere. Sorry.

It all depends on what kind of leather bag you are looking for. High end or low end. High end stuff is going to cost. I love leather and have several, satchels and a duffle bag.

I just got a leather SAK, and I think the brand is reliable quality for a reasonable price. I found the purse I wanted online at a major department store, then shopped it and wound up buying it on sale at a store I’ve never heard of. I like to stay under $100. but I paid $135. for it.
I’ve had a few crocheted SAKs too for summer purses and they’ve held up great. I’ve also had a few Fossils that were good quality too.
My main criteria are real leather, inner compartments, and it cannot weigh a ton before you put anything in them. That is my main complaint with Coach...they weigh too much.

Yeah, they used to have good affordable bags for under a $100. but I haven't seen any for quite a while. Their designer bags are getting pricier and pricier. Anne Klein ( designer) has good satchel style bags for under a hundred. They have removable shoulder straps and lots of room inside. Good colors and they last well too.
Fossil is one of my favorite travel brands. Their bags are very practical.
Just pay attention to the trims. They absolutely can't be made from bonded leather. Bonded leather handbag is not 100% leather. The trims will be first to break and peel and make the handbag look trashy. Bonded leather only contains about 15% genuine leather scraps (dust and shavings) that are mixed with polyurethane and glued to fabric, fiber, or paper backing. It totally ruins the look of your bag in a short time.
Bonded leather is going to be thinner than genuine leather and can feel synthetic. Usually used for trims around your bag, inside the bag, and straps.
