No. Not a child's toy, guys. A garment women wear on the upper half of their bodies that is more put together and fashionable than a tee shirt, usually needs little or no ironing, but is not as formal or officious as a blouse. They generally make you look more "put together" in jeans, and less business like in slacks or skirts.

You know one when you see one.

What is YOUR definition of a cute top? Do you have a go-to store where you find them? What makes a top cute to you?

Your definition is more restrictive than mine. A cute top can be anything worn on the top half of the body that is ... well, cute. Casual or dressy.

Please read again + I ASKED for YOUR definition! Mine isn't everyone's.

Do you have a picture of one?

To me a cute top is any garment worn above the waist that I think is cute. There is no criteria, other than being appealing to me. I can't define it any further than that.

A "cute" top is one that is fitted properly.

I like the independent local boutiques in S.F. for stuff like tops or accessorizing jeans & casual skirts. IMO a cute top is one that is cropped or has a little flair in design…AND fits well. So I wouldn’t think of a blouse or a plain turtleneck or sweater as a “cute top”.

Tried to rep you but they wouldn't let me. Independent boutiques are always the best source.

It has to have something different about it - a square or ballet neckline maybe, some shoulder detail, interesting (not cheap) buttons, or a cool pattern. And no, not all of those things at once or it looks overdone - I want something tailored.

Flattering to the person wearing it.

I tend to agree with your definition, OP.

I love both of those necklines. They flatter face and body.
