I have found beards immensely attractive even before they became popular. Looking back, I don't know that I've even been attracted to a man who did not have facial hair since graduating from high school.
So yeah, no complaints here. And thankfully, it's a very common look in the Boston area.
he's actually not driving...the guy on his right is. Meme must've originated in the UK or something.
As for the OP, I hate the word "hipster" more than I hate anything that is typically associated with "hipsters". More generally, I do not like words used to label people in an oversimplified manner
Cardigans don't look good on anyone, but beards are usually fine. The chunky glasses look is a bit tired. They look ok on someone who is attractive anyway but make ugly people look even worse.
The fixation on "Why would you want to look like everybody else?" Has always been lost on me. I personally don't dress to look the same as OR different from others. I dress in what I like and what I think looks good on me. Sometimes, it's what lots of other people are wearing, sometimes not.
I work in NYC and am so tired of seeing ugly, bearded mountain men walking around. I guess most of them are ugly geeks to begin with, so it doesn't make a difference either way, but it's a tired trend that needs to end.
If you are reacting to hipsters, they have make their point. The way I see it is, you are no longer different and unique when you all wear the same uniform. The look has peaked, now it will peter, only to be replaced by yet another trend.
Men have worn the same uniform since the long and baggy trend in the early 1990s. It's good to have a choice. I welcome the Hipster look.
Not much into neckbeards, can't stand skinny jeans , and about the only "hipster" thing I like is their attraction towards vintage items.
