Poland A and Poland B. Poland A was part of the German Empire and is more industrialized and politically liberal. Poland B was part of the Russian and Austrian Empires and is more agrarian and politically conservative.

One thing that complicates the narrative was that western Poland was settled by Poles from eastern Poland when the Soviet Union annexed that territory into Ukraine and Belarus and deported the poles. But yes western Poland used to be part of Germany and thus had better developed infrastructure.
