Just to say my favorate Mayor of all time in El Paso and also El Paso's only 4 term mayor from 1981-1989 Jonathon Rogers died today at 78. He also is the founder of the ''Bank of the West'' and was credited for loaning more money to El Pasoans and business for expanion in helping El Paso grow. He also built Cohen stadium in northeast EP where the Diablos play. He pushed for the taxpayers to support the largest Rodeo Complex in the world and a 12,000 seat arena but the massive bond issue failed. He reciently wrote a personel check of 1 million dollars to Texas Tech's new medical school being built in EP.

It was cool to see him party with El Pasoans at the El Paso Street Fiesta back then wearing an Sombrero and getting tipsy and dancing in the streets. Also pushed the 4th of july celebrations at Mountain Shadow lakes in Horizon City even though its not his city. Anyway he was a really cool mayor back then in the 80's. Sad to see the 80's politicos gone (Prez Reagan and Mayor Rogers)
