On May 17th I bought a toy in Aldi. It was new that week, just advertised. Yesterday I was in there and they still have some on the floor -- at $6 less.
Their website says:
Q. An item I purchased is now lower in price at the same store I purchased it at, how do I get a price adjustment?
A. A price adjustment will be made on ALDI Find items with presentation of a receipt. Please take your receipt to the store from where you purchased the product, and the store manager will make the adjustment. Seasonal and items that are available on a regular basis do not qualify for price adjustments.
Has anyone gotten an adjustment like this, just by bringing in a receipt?
I still have the toy, unopened; I bought it for a far off birthday gift. I can bring a picture!
I am asking because any time I got a similar adjustment anyplace in the past bringing the product in was required and i walk to the store, not drive. The box is unwieldy. It was especially unwieldy when I carried it home on a very windy day.
BTW, the $6 is a small amount, but it is 35% of the original price -- it's a matter of principle!
Usually store managers have some discretion in return policies so yes it is a good idea to call the store you want the refund from. Alos a lot of large retailers monitor refunds electronically. They can tell based on receipt information if a price adjustment or refund has been performed on an item before, and the system prevents additional adjustments made to the same item. If aldis has that system in place you probably don't need the item with you, just the receipt.

You didn’t get sarcasm here. You got common sense.
