The ABSOLUTE BEST pets if ever had came from the shelter.

I've adopted pure breeds before and the high cost didn't get me a better pet, just a much more expensive one.

See an animal for what is in it's heart, not on it's pedigree.

That's a wonderful article! Both of my dogs were from shelters, the first one SPCA and the current one from a high kill shelter at the end of her time. I will always adopt from a shelter, they are just so happy. I don't know if they are happier than other dogs, but it's nice to know they were liberated

There are soooo many dogs and cats losing their homes right now - a big uptick in the numbers due to the economy and the crash in the real estate market .

I have never regretted getting a dog from the pound . Thanks for posting the article, Brightdoglover !

Soooooooooo many in shelters with no homes to go too! This is so sad all these homeless doggies in shelters all over. Makes me so uspet....
