Used to get Revolution for Dogs for doggie daycare...pandemic hit worked from home so cut the cost. Starting it again and looked up the cost. Last time I bought Revolution, it was $74/6-months. Looked today and its now $150/6-months. Literally doubled in 3 years. Insanity.

What other options are there that cover Flea/Tick and Heartworm since we are starting to do occasional daycare now that is a little more reasonable?

Don’t feel bad, our two shepherds started on Simparica Trio at the vet this month, the price is 180.00 for six tablets on Chewy. I’m also comparing prices, Trifexis is 133.00 for six tablets, Sentinal blue box is 77.00 for six tablets and even the bundle of Interceptor Plus and Credilio is priced at 160.00, still less than the Simparica.

I’m going to be checking out the reviews and safety of these products. I already told the front desk, I’m going to be comparison shopping and they’re fine with continuing the script for another brand. Glad they don’t expect me to buy through them.

We had to start the boys on heartworm medicine, since we’re in Florida, but prices have really gone up since we used Heartgard years ago.

They keep telling us inflation is 8%, yet why is it everything is 30-50% higher? What "hasn't" gone up in price? Its supposed to be a basket of goods, so if objectively items HAVE gone up 50%, then there must be a tons of things that went up 0 or 1% to average out the 50% items. I don't see it...

Sounds like this is just the cost of heartworm medication now then? Yet another item falls victim to post covid lockdown sufferages.

My vet offered me a once per year injection for heartworm and it was quite reasonable compared to the oral medications.

I use seresto collars for flea/tick. Price hasn't changed much.

I pay $75 for 3 months coverage using Simparica Trio....through my vet. I get an annual heartworm injection that runs about 1/2 the cost of monthly pills.

We don't have ticks here and we don't go anywhere where there are ticks so we use Trifexis, I get it from Bandana RX it's $113 for 6 month supply with free shipping, the Vet wanted $30 a dose. Simparica is $130.82 for 6 months (20-40 pound dog)

I use Nexgard Spectra which covers heartworm, ticks and fleas. I don't know what it costs these days in the US, but I can get a year's supply on the large dog tablets here for $AU180. We spend a fair bit of time in rural areas with a lot of parasitic ticks so making sure the dogs have solid tick protection is really important.
